I did a painting of our family cat Moxie, who recently left this mortal coil.
Not much to say about it. Didn't take too long, and I'm happy with it. The only thing to say is that it took two sessions, since originally he was looking back at the viewer like some kind of crazy sociopathic man with an agenda.
Yeah I'm not having that! Besides it being just generally creepy it feels tonally to miss the point of doing a painting of a pet who passed on. Facing away feels more somber and apropos. If I left him staring at the viewer I might have to title the painting "Moxie: The Carpathian."
